WHO WE ARE

Extending knowledge and changing lives.

As an educational outreach component of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE), the Extension Master Gardener program brings the resources of Virginia's land-grant universities to the people of the Commonwealth.

NNEMGs provide horticultural education to Newport News residents.  In 2019, 60 active Newport News Volunteers contributed 6000 hours of direct educational contact to its citizens.

NNEMGs can be found at the Grin and Grow learning garden, the James River Convalescent Center, local schools, churches, working the Garden for Nature program, at the mobile help desk, and with our Speaker's Bureau at various locations and events.
